"What do you mean you're not voting" The sequel...

This is a response to one of Christina of Tenchi's Thoughts blogs:

All I have is two words: Thank you.

My friends (and I, regretfully) are constantly getting into huge arguments about politics, and none of us can vote. And the one girl who can vote stays out of the arguments. The worst fight was yesterday, which was the result of a McCain speech/rally near my town, three of my friends skipping to go, and a sea of McCain supporters (including one really close-minded old woman) in our local Panera. What started out as some friendly jokes (mostly including some variation of the word 'maverick') quickly escalated into an argument which then turned into a heated debate between two of my friends that ultimately resulted in my "McCain friend" angrily storming out of said Panera.

All over something none of us have any say in, as the girl who can vote wasn't there, and of course, I, like Christina, am a resident of that election anomaly we all know as Florida.

Oh, and another thought on the Random McCain Woman (who quite reminded me of the Crazy McCain Rally Lady...). After approaching my two friends wearing their newly acquired McCain/Palin shirts, and commending them on what "a good choice they made" and "what smart boys they were", this woman lingered long enough for my other friend, and fellow Obama supporter (as I was keeping quite a tight lip), to make several snarky shots at Sarah Palin in front of her, all of which completely flew over her head and she responded by agreeing with my friend's jokes.

Another thought on the jokes/argument/debate that occurred: We make fun of one of my friends (the aforementioned "McCain friend") to an extreme degree because of his party hopping and newly acquired title as a fiscal conservative. I make fun of him because while he is a fiscal conservative and is uber-concerned about Obama's tax plans (I affectionately call him ___ the Student, as he has no job) he has no job, as I said, pays no taxes, and I'm about 99.9% sure his parents don't even fall into the $250,000 salary bracket. And these are his only grounds for supporting McCain. Oh, and he used to support Hilary Clinton, but he thinks Obama is a communist.

From what I heard about the rally, it was quite a show. McCain was there, Palin was not. So while Palin is not there, someone took it upon themselves to distribute highly chauvinistic buttons with Palin's face (but not her body) on them. While I highly dislike Sarah Palin, I feel that this is degrading and frankly it kinda pisses me off.

Well those are my thought for the moment.

Nickolodeon's Kids Pick the President

51% of the vote went to Obama
49% went to McCain.

I guess there aren't any independent tykes...oh well.

And people say kids have no idea what's going on.

My kudos for the week go to the kids who voted Obama (I think they said somewhere around 5 million?)...Go kids!

It's just a shame your votes can't count. Like mine. Damn leap year.

Another Random Rant

I dunno...I guess it's just sheer boredom bringing me here this evening. So what should I talk about? Well, for starters, finishing my partial bibliography for my psychology internal assessment took less time than I imagined, which is fabulous. I also would like to comment on how incredibly amuzing both SNL Weekend Update Thursday and SNL on sat. were. Gotta love those political skits. And, much to my surprise, Sarah Palin was actually kinda funny...but I'm attributing 99.9% of that to the writers of SNL. Well I guess thats all I have to say for now, cause I'm drained, which is causing me to senselessly ramble about pointless stuff. Oh, and tonight's Gossip Girl was really good, too :).

Pump pump pump it up!

Tis the evening that us "crazy kids" go all out with the spirty-ness and scream our little hearts out as we "cheer our team to victory". Yup, it's that time of the year again, which we affectionately refer to as the Homecoming football game. I'm super excited as I'm looking for everything I can possibly find in my house that is my schools colors. I'm also super excited because I get to see one of my oldest friends who is a cheerleader for the school that we're playing tonight. So hopefully we win, because last year we played the same team, and we lost.

On another note, in continuing with this week's dress-up days, tomorrow is senior crossdress day...our school's unofficial day of fun...where we get to see more man-leg than we ever needed to as well as more of their undergarments...so it should be fun...

I think thats it for now...adios!

Like moths to a flame...

Like the Dane Cook joke about car accidents, people are apparently as equally drawn to fire trucks in neighborhoods.

So I'm driving home from school today, and there's like a firetruck on one side of the street, parked, and the mailman on the other, idling. My first thought is, 'shit, how am I gonna get around them' but apparently the other people on my street's first thought is, 'oo lets go outside and attempt to be inconspicuous while we try to be the annoying brownnosers that we are'. As I mentioned, the mailman had just finished hitting like one half of the block, so my fair neighbors were "getting the mail" while they attempting to figure out what was going on with the big yellow firetruck on the corner. It was almost as bad as if a garage sale had just started setting up. Everyone-- kids, old people, young people, middle aged people-- was "coming out of the bushes", as Dane Cook would say, just to see what was going on. I could really have cared less, nothing was on fire, there were no police, nothing seemed to be an eminent danger to my well-being. So I just drove on to my house, successfully navigating the fire truck-mailman slalom, and my house is within visual distance of the house in question, actually got my mail, and then went inside.

So my rant is complete, and just needed to write this because it amazes me how nosy people can be...

Teh Senior Year Blues

Well, let me first start off by saying, my mild heart palpitations have ceased now that I know my beloved Cosplay Lab isn't dead...that at least puts a smile on mah face (which will now be expressed by this nifty emoticon). :)

But to address the title of this post...school blows. Everyone I know was all like "OMG senior year is SOOOOO easy". I'm here to say, yeah right. Clearly these people have never fallen victim to the soul eater known across the globe as the International Baccalaureate Program, or not-so-affectionately known as I.B.

I even dropped two core classes, and I still think that it's harder than last year, which was supposed to be the "hardest year". For a slim margin of the time, its not so bad...but for some reason this week, my teachers have an affinity with Wednesday. I have two major point assignments due, one minor, and a test.

So I'm severely hoping that the college credit is worth it...

Hello World!!

Hello all...I'm chiisai_kitty, and I know I could have left out the underscore, but I've started to identify with it over the years...

As you may have guessed from my title, I am rejoining the blogging population. I used to have a livejournal eons ago, but I let it go. But now I'm back, with more stuff to say, ready to show my opinionated self off to the interweb :)

On here I will talk...and sometimes rant...about life, cosplaying, and generally things that tend to piss me off (hey, it happens to everyone...right?)

To quickly clear up somethings: 1) I am a girl; 2) I am a liberal; 3) I am a young adult
These facts influence some of my thoughts (mostly numbers 1 and 2)...just giving a heads up :)
